School Lunches

There is often some confusion around Free School Meals (FSM), and the Universal Infant Free School Meals (UIFSM). All families with children from Reception to Year 2 are entitled, under current legislation, to UIFSM.

Forms to apply for UIFSM will be provided in due course.

Some of our families are eligible for FSM. Parents/carers who receive any of the following are eligible for FSM for learners at our schools, regardless of age:

  • Income Support (IS)

  • Employment Support Allowance (Income Related)

  • Universal Credit with an annual household income of below £7,400 after tax

  • Income-based Job Seekers Allowance (IBJSA)

  • Guaranteed Element of State Pension Credit

  • Support under Part IV of the immigration and Asylum Act 1999

  • Child Tax Credit, provided you are not entitled to Working Tax Credit, with an annual taxable income (as assessed by HMRC) of less than £16,190

Applications for Free School Meals can be made online at the below web address:

We always strongly encourage families who are eligible for FSM to apply because the school will receive additional income to support your child's wider education throughout primary school once you have been registered as FSM for any period of time.

Our meals are currently cooked at Bishop Fox's secondary school as we do not have a production kitchen on site. We do have plans to produce meals within our own Trust next academic year at some point- more information to follow.

Here is a sample menu. More information about school lunch will come out nearer to your child starting:
