Welcome to Ruishton School!
We are so pleased that your child will be joining us as part of the new intake for 2020!
Inevitably, due to the current situation, a lot has changed since you applied for your child's school place. No one of us could have predicted that we would be in this situation.
We have had to make many changes to the way in which the school is operating. As you will notice, this isn't our School website but we are very fortunate to have staff members within our Trust Schools who have been working behind the scenes to set up a Virtual School. This is a hub where lots of information is provided for all children across the three schools and it also offers information for parents of pre-school and new intake children.
Due to the current situation, the way in which we manage transition to school will have to change. In normal circumstances, we would visit your child in their existing setting and we would invite your children into school for stay and play sessions. We would usually also have a new parent’s information evening. We are now busy adapting our practices to support initial communications and online interactions and we are also planning ahead to when schools do re-open. Please do not worry as we will make sure there are opportunities for your children to meet the staff, visit the environment and familiarise themselves with Ruishton before they start school.
As well as the information on our Virtual School Pre-School pages, we have a new email address for you to contact us on and this will allow you to ask us anything you need to know directly: firstname.lastname@example.org . You can also look at our class page for an idea of what to expect in Willow class.
We hope these steps will help to ease any concerns that you may have about the current situation in relation to your child starting school. We will continue to work as hard as we can to allow for a smooth transition for your children. Although we don't know how long we are expected to work in this way, we will keep you up to date with developments as they happen.
Please keep checking these pages, and your emails, for updates. Stay safe.
